PLACE is a community of academic technologists and library professionals at small, liberal arts colleges who are dedicated to collaboration, professional development, networking, experimentation, exploration, partnerships, peer-mentoring, and more!
We meet online six times in the fall and also in the spring. We alternate between a topic-driven conversation and an open discussion forum. Topics can be core or tangential to the information services aspects of liberal arts higher education. The intent is to keep all conversations informal, experimental, and open. This is a place to share ideas that may not fully formed, expertise that is not yet fully honed, and to share thoughts and question that may not yet be grounded in deep experience. In that spirit, we intentionally do not record sessions so that people have incentive to join in and so that all feel able to participate without inhibition. This is a place to learn and grow together, even if leading the discussion.
